A representative from the Leavell Center can come to your church to serve as a consultant or presenter. This can prove helpful in several ways. Many pastors find it beneficial for an outside party to present this type of information, given its strategic implications. The pastor is able then to act purely as a facilitator directing discussion rather than as an apologist advocating a particular course of action.
Consultant
You can request a consultant to meet with your staff and/or key leaders. As a consultant he can discuss the results of your Demographic Profile or Internal Church Growth Analysis, and help your people consider the implications for strategic planning.
Presenter
You might want someone to come as a presenter, to meet with the congregation, present the demographic and internal church material, and answer questions. An advantage the outside presenter has is his ignorance of past events in the church. Members understand this and accept that his presentation is based solely on what can happen in their church's future.
Cost
The cost for this service is travel expenses, a love offering or honorarium, and any materials needed for the presentation (transparencies, slides, copies, etc.).
